This website is operated by Gloomy Garden Creations, based in Victoria, Australia. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Gloomy Garden Creations.
We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms and Conditions by posting updates on this page. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes.
2. Products and Handmade Nature
All journals, notebooks, and accessories are handmade. Slight variations in colour, size, or finish may occur — these are natural characteristics of handmade items and not considered faults.
Custom orders will be produced based on the design and specifications agreed upon at the time of order.
3. Custom & Commissioned Orders
Custom or personalised orders are made specifically for you. Once production begins or the order is approved:

4. Pricing and Payment
All prices listed are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.

We reserve the right to change product pricing or shipping rates at any time without notice.
5. Shipping and Delivery
We currently ship within Australia only, via Australia Post. Full shipping details, including rates and timeframes, are outlined below.
Once an order is shipped, Gloomy Garden Creations is not responsible for postal delays, lost parcels, or damages caused by postal handling. We will assist in contacting Australia Post if an issue occurs.
6. Shipping Options
Standard Post$10 } 3–7 business days. Includes tracking. Most orders use this method.
Express Post$15 } 1–3 business days (major cities). Optional upgrade at checkout.
Free Shipping$0 } 3–7 business days. Orders over $100 AUD. Automatically applied at checkout.
Note: Delivery times are estimates only. Australia Post may experience delays outside our control.
7. Returns and Refunds
Our Returns Policy applies to all purchases. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, as all products are handmade and often customised.
If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it at jordan@gloomygardencreations.com.au with your order details and photos of the issue.
8. Gift Vouchers & Promotions

Refunds & Returns Policy

Our commitment At Gloomy Garden Creations we handcraft custom, handbound journals and accessories. We want you to love your item — if there’s a problem, we’ll do our best to fix it.
This policy explains when you can return an item and how we handle refunds, repairs and replacements.
1. Faulty or not-as-described items (your rights under Australian Consumer Law) If the goods you purchase are faulty, damaged on arrival, or significantly different to the description, you are entitled to a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. Depending on the issue and its severity, this may be: a repair, or a replacement, or a refund.
Please contact us as soon as possible with photos, your order number and a brief description of the problem. We will assess the issue and advise the next steps. We will cover reasonable return postage costs where an item is clearly faulty or incorrectly described. ACCC
2.Change of mind We do not accept returns for change of mind on made-to-order or personalised items (for example: journals customised with names, custom sizes, bespoke covers). For non-personalised, ready-made stock, we may accept returns within 14 days of delivery provided the item is returned unused, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. 3.Proof of purchase Please keep your receipt, order confirmation email, or payment record — we need this to process returns and refunds.
4. How to request a return or report a problem Email us at [jordan@gloomygardencreations.com.au] with: your name and order number, photos showing the issue (if applicable), and what outcome you would prefer (repair, replacement or refund). We will acknowledge your message within 2-4 business days and advise how to proceed.
5. Refund method and timeframe Refunds (when approved) will be made using the original payment method where possible. We aim to process approved refunds within 10 business days of receiving the returned goods or agreeing that a refund is due. (If a refund to the original payment method is not possible, we will discuss an alternative with you.)
6. Return postage & risk If the item is faulty or incorrectly described, we will pay reasonable return postage costs and arrange the return. For change-of-mind returns, customers must pay return postage and are responsible for the item while in transit until it arrives back with us. We recommend using tracked post for returns.
7. Exchange policy We can exchange non-personalised items returned unused and in original condition within 14 days of delivery (subject to availability). For personalised items, exchanges are only offered where there is a fault or error on our part.
8. Important legal notes This policy is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — it does not limit or replace those statutory rights. Q: My personalised journal is the wrong size — what now?
A: Contact us with photos and your order number. If it’s a fault or our error we will offer repair, replacement or refund under the ACL and cover return postage.
Q: I changed my mind — can I return?
A: Personalised items: no. Non-personalised items: possibly — see our 14-day change-of-mind terms above.
Q: How long until I get my refund?
A: Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days after we receive the returned item (or after we agree a refund is due).

All items are made to order. Processing times are generally 5‒10 business days but may vary during
busy periods.

We use Australia Post for all deliveries. Tracking information will be provided once your order has
shipped.

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and location. Free shipping may apply for
orders over a set amount, as stated on our website.
Delivery Times
Standard delivery within Australia generally takes 2‒8 business days, depending on location.
Delays beyond our control (postal strikes, weather, etc.) may occur.
Lost or Delayed Parcels
Once parcels are handed to Australia Post, we are not responsible for delays or losses. Please
